Taking Better Pictures With Your Digital Camera (2 offerings, 2 different locations)

Are you still getting to know your digital camera and its features? Here is an opportunity to learn in this seminar for beginners. Bring your camera (and camera manual if you have one) and learn when and how to use its special features, such as program mode, manual mode, aperture priority, shutter priority, white balance and more. Also covered will be basic composition and best use of light for different subjects and situations, such as plants and people. Macro and landscape photography will also be covered. Students are encouraged to bring one or two (no larger than 8 x 10) sample prints of their previous efforts to share with other students in our pushpin show. Participants will recieve handouts covering all topics discussed. Refreshments will be served.

Digital Workflow For Beginner Photographers(2 offerings, 2 different locations)

If you own a digital camera and a computer, but are challenged by the basic activities of transferring, storing, and manipulating images, this workshop is for you. Learn to connect your camera to the computer, transfer picture files, format your digital media card, organize, rotate, and name your images, save your files in different formats, and archive your images. We will also discuss and demonstrate ways to enhance your images (cropping, resizing, color balance) and prepare your pictures for web, e-mail, and printing. Bring your camera for hands-on help.

Beginner Photoshop© Elements 6 For Aspiring Photographers(2 offerings, 2 different locations)

Using classroom lecture and interactive student participation, this course will cover optimizing images, layers, tools, color balance, working with black & white conversions, and much more. An illustrated manual will lead students step-by-step so that skills can be practiced at home. This workshop will also include an introduction to Photoshop© Elements 6 built in photo organizer, which is an easy to learn and simple to use data base program. Refreshments will be served.

Digital Photography For Kids  

A fun beginner digital photography class geared for kids that we can tailor for different age groups and different time needs. This course can be taught in 10 one hour sessions, or it can be changed to accomodate the needs and schedule of your group or organization. It can be taught on the weekends, or as an after school enrichment program. These classes cover an introduction to the digital camera, composition, photographing people and animals, macro photography, combining multiple images, and basic photo-editing techniques using Photoshop©. At the end of the course, students will receive a certificate of participation.
